Blog

The 2025 summer art fair season is closed. Hard to believe. I realized that I haven’t put a single message on my blog this summer. It has been soooo busy. We traveled to Norway in June and I returned home with a log of inspiration. Add this to all of the photos from Scotland from last fall and I definitely have a lot of inspiration for future landscapes. I have also managed to capture photos of the sandhill cranes in our neighborhood. Of course, I will need to incorporate them into my art. I have several potential exhibit opportunities in the works. Of course, you can still visit some of my work in the wonderful Woodland Studios Gallery in Stoughton. It’s a wonderful gallery with high quality art. I am now looking forward to the quiet times of winter. Winter always provides the peace that I need to create more work.

I will be sharing my newest works with all of you here on my website and on social media. I will also be providing you with a window into the wet felting process that I use to create one of kind wool paintings. Of course, you will also be first to hear about new exhibits, shows and upcoming events.

It has been a successful stretch for me. My piece, Sunset Over Tillamook Bay was given a State Award at the Madison Wrap Show. That means that this piece will be included in the September competition which includes only State Award winners from the various WRAP shows around the state. The September show is at the Pyle Center in Madison.

After some initial uncertainty, I was juried into all three of the art fairs that I applied to. The most competitive is Art Fair on the Square in Madison July 8 and 9th. Booth number 449 on Main St.

I received an award for my booth at the Spring Green Art Fair. It isn’t my first award but it is the first with money attached. I am also automatically juried into next year’s art fair.
